Travels in Morocco

During April and May of 2024, I traveled to Casablanca, Morocco to visit my beautiful sister. She was an international science teacher there.

We started our trip at her apartment in Casablanca. We planned our trip, ate yummy food and binge-watched Superstore. It was so much fun!

We decided on a road trip since my sister had a nice car. She did all the driving, because traffic is crazy there! First we drove to Marrakesh to see the winding marketplace. It was very crowded and we had to hold hands to stick together. We went to the Bahia Palace and wandered through the maze of the medina. The most memorable part of that city was the wild kitties everywhere. They were so cute! But this city wasn't for me. Way too crowded.

Next we drove through the Atlas Mountains to Ouarzazate. The Atlas Mountains were gorgeous and some were covered with snow! It was amazing! We arrived there late, so we just went out to dinner and went to our hotel for sleep.

We got up early the next morning and got food and supplies for our road trip to the Sahara Desert. Right when we arrived at our destination, we were picked up and taken on a sunset camel ride through the desert. We sat on the dunes for a good hour just relaxing, staring at sand for days, taking photos and watching the sunset. We then rode our camels to the "glamping" site. It was magical. We stayed in a large tent with a king size bed and a tiled bathroom all to ourselves.

We spent two nights in the tent. We ate, took photos, trekked through the desert and ate some more. It was more relaxing than you can even imagine!

After that we drove back to Ouarzazate to the Atlas Film Studios, the Hollywood of Morocco and the largest film studio in the world. We stayed in the hotel right next door, The Oscar Hotel. We swam and ate more delicious food. Then the next morning we took a tour of Atlas Studios, saw where many major motion pictures were filmed and took tons of fun pictures. It was so much fun!

From there we drove all the way back to Casablanca, where we relaxed at my sisters apartment, ordered food in and binge-watched more of Superstore. More fun!

My sister and I had the best time together and I will always remember our road trip through Morocco. Love you, sis, and miss you so much! I now look forward to more travels in the near future.
